WMSC86

If you saw my last post, then you know I have been working on sympathy cards this week.  For this card I decided to play along with the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 86.

I started by stamping the background and roughing up the edges.  I used the burlap with lace for some added texture. Next it was on to the doily.

The doily was too white so I smudged the whole thing with a Ranger tool and Sahara Sand ink then stamped it with Text It.  I like the soft look.  I think Text It is my favorite background stamp evah!  The Poppies added the punch of color it needed.

Sympathy Cards - Card Patterns 154, CR84FN49

This week I have been working on Sympathy cards.  I needed four. Yes, I did say 4!  I only had two in my stash so ... to the craft  room I went.  I decided to incorporate several challenge into my designs.

Can you tell I didn't clean my desk after my last card!  I just love this color scheme and couldn't resist those scraps.

I cut the dark gray scroll from a Cricut cartridge.  I think it compliments the sentiment well.  I tried the butterfly plain but it needed more so I stamped the smaller image and added a tiny brad.

The Liebster Award

I was given an award today!  I was so surprised when I saw this in my comments.  It was given to me by Kay and it brought a smile to my face.  Thank You!

So, what is this award all about ...

It is a share-the-love arrangement given to inspirational bloggers with less than 200 followers.  The to-do list of any Liebster award recipient is to:

  1. Thank the giver and link back to their blog.
  2. Pick 5 Bloggers and send them the award by leaving a comment on their blog.
  3. Copy and Paste the award to your blog.
  4. Hope that those you award forward it on to their favorite bloggers.
I would like to pass this award on to five ladies that I love to check in on.  They have inspiring blogs and create wonderful art. Don't forget to leave them some love!

CR84FN Color Challenge & Less is More

I've never used this combo before but I love these colors together!  This card ended up being made from all scrap which qualified it for the Less is More challenge.  (Gotta love that too!)

I think the yellow and plaid double ended banners are Martha Stewart scraps.  The polka dot is Papertrey Ink.  And the light gray strip and dark gray behind the label well...your guess is as good as mine!  The inks are random, unlabeled cubes I bought when I first started stamping.  I wish I knew the name of them because they are great inks.

Now for a little about the layout.  As I was hopping around blog land today, I saw this layout used somewhere.  Of course, I didn't bookmark it so I couldn't find it again - lol.  If anyone recognizes it, please, let me know where it came from.

Edit:  Thanks to Sanketi @ The Storyteller I can now share with you the where I cased this card!    Lime Doodle

Papertrey Ink Feb Blog Hop

Hi all!  Today is Papertrey Ink's Interactive card blog hop.   I made a boy birthday card using some of my goodies from PTI's Anniversary release this month.  This was a fun one!  I can't wait to keep playing with these new dies.

I typed the saying in Printshop and then cut it with the Ad Sense die.

And for the inside ....

I wanted the Happy Birthday to be the focal point so I Versamarked the stardust saying. As I look at the pictures, I should have stamped it in black.
