PTI Boutique Accessory Challenge

Hi there.  Today I am showcasing some home made goodies my daughter and I made to give to her "besties".  We made earring sets from buttons and shiny embellishments.  The blue set was made in her school color and has a matching bobby pin.

We placed them on the die cut cards that were decorated with PTI Button Boutique.

PTI Favorite Project #2

PTI Favorite Project 1

Today's card inspiration comes from Maile Belles favorite projects.  I like her clean, simple style.  It is my favorite look but one that I find hard to achieve.  I always want to add one more thing :)

I especially like the lines of this one but I didn't have a stamp to use so I improvised.  I used my score-pal to make lines in some velum.

It's hard to see in the picture, but I added a touch of sparkle to the apple with a gel pen.

PTI 6th Anniversary Sketch Challenge

Now, on to today's contest which is all about sketches.  PTI  presented everyone with five possible sketches to play with.  You can download a copy here  or here.   I chose to use sketch #5 below.

 

I stamped with PTI Dot Spot,  Delightful Doilies, and Think Big #3 using A.muse Studio ink in Lime, Grapefruit, Papaya, and Ocean.  The clear gem on the I in Merci is from Hero Arts.

Make it Monday 100

Hi.  I am back from a long hiatus and decided to play along with Papertrey Ink's 100th Make it Monday video.  Our challenge is to create packaging for cards with over sized embellishment.

Typically, when I make an over sized card it is going to be hand delivered so the packaging doesn't need to meet postal guidelines.   I call the envelope I use the most a slide pouch.  It is quick and easy to make.

I take 6x12 piece of cardstock and score it at 3.5 and 8.5.  After it's scored I cut a half circle somewhere between the two score line.  Next I score tape one end closed and then fold the scored lines and adhere them in the back. I like to wrap a different color band around the middle and decorate it to coordinate with the card.

For the card, I used my daughter's idea of punching out the butterfly trail and backing it with a different color to coordinate with the washi tape.

Knots Badge

I love to buy ribbon.  I have tons of it and rarely use it which is why I chose to participate in the Ribbon Technique Challenge.

Your challenge is to pick one of the ribbon techniques from below and utilize it in a project of your own.  You can re-create an exact replica of the designer's project or reinterpret it in your own way.

I thought Erin's idea was fabulous.  (No tying!!)

I'm not sure what the product is that I used.  It feels like seam binding but the label says it is for crocheting.  I saw it for cheap in the junk store and bought it up!

Stamp.a.Faire 2012

Well, as you can see I did not make it back by dinner.  We were at a party celebrating 7 July birthdays and the slip-n-slide was calling my name.  I kept telling the kids "just one more time" and you know how that goes!  I did get some time to play last night and this morning. 

 

Your challenge is to pick one of the mini books from below and utilize it in a project of your own.  You can re-create an exact replica of the designer's project or reinterpret it in your own way.

I didn't have any pictures ready so for my project I made a mini book to keep all my computer usernames and passwords.  I have had them on a note card ring but it has finally bit the dust.  This looks much prettier anyway.

I like the binding technique from Heather's video.  It is quick and easy.  I did take her advice and scored the card stock for easier opening.

On the inside I added lines from Top Ten to keep things neat and tidy.

The tab wording was printed in Print Shop.  Then I turned the Mat Stack 5 die on end and cut them out.
