Beyond the Clouds

Hi there.  Hope everyone had a crafty weekend!!  Just popping in to share a card I made for PTI's MIM 108.   Heather Nichols challenged us to make inked backgrounds.

I embossed the sentiment with ultra fine silver embossing powder.  I wasn't able to get a very good picture of it.  Then I inked the rainbow background with my Ranger tool.

To finish it off, I die cut the clouds and inked the edges.  I added pop dots to the small upper cloud for some dimension.  This was a fun way to make a rainbow.  The colors blend so effortlessly.

Water Color Wonder

Today I have some cards to share that are made from the newly release PTI Watercolor Wonder.  I have fallen in love with this set!  You can make one layer cards that pack a lot of punch.

This weekend I needed Thank You cards for the band teachers so I whipped these up in our school colors.  I used Amuse Ink.  The above card has Winter Sky and Blueberry stamped twice.  Below is Winter Sky, Blueberry and Navy.  I think I like the effect of the top card the best.

In the next card I was going for an abstract sunrise.

I wasn't happy with the way the orange color stamped.  I felt like I smeared it so I decided to embellish the mistake away.

I created a three layer vellum butterfly adorned with rhinestones.

PTI Favorite Project #2

I chose Cristina Kowalczyk to case while I played along with the Papertrey Ink favorite project challenge.  I used her butterfly card card for my inspiration.

Knots Badge

I love to buy ribbon.  I have tons of it and rarely use it which is why I chose to participate in the Ribbon Technique Challenge.

Your challenge is to pick one of the ribbon techniques from below and utilize it in a project of your own.  You can re-create an exact replica of the designer's project or reinterpret it in your own way.

I thought Erin's idea was fabulous.  (No tying!!)

I'm not sure what the product is that I used.  It feels like seam binding but the label says it is for crocheting.  I saw it for cheap in the junk store and bought it up!

The clouds that are raised came from a video posted by Jessica Witty in the Card Set Challenge.
