Birthday Invitations and Favors

We have a big birthday coming in our household this month so I have been working on invitations and favors.  This year we are doing a swimming/slumber party.  There are going to be 5 girls which makes it easier than when we invited the whole class!

My invites fell right in line with this weeks Papertrey Ink MIM so I am going to play along.I love Erin's tutorial.  I print a lot of my sentiments but usually hold them up to the light and eyeball where the die should go.  I think this technique will be more efficient!!

The background and flip flops are from SU Sparkling Summer.

I added the glitter strip as an after thought.

Since we are going swimming, we decided to decorate flip flops for party favors.  The girls told us their favorite color and shoe size so we could individualize them.

We are really happy with how these turned out.  And, I am thankful that Sophie has nimble fingers and could turn all the rhinestones over for me to glue on!

For the favor bags we are using a cute reusable tote bag filled with the decorated flip flops, Emery boards, snacks, and magazines.  (I did get talked into some Teen Bop but I'm trying to balance it out with Discovery Girls).

Blog Hop March 2012

Hi all!  This weekend just flew by but was packed with fun activities.  I managed to squeeze in a quick card for the PTI Blog Hop.  I'll have to update the details later.

For the flowers, I added some glitter embossing powder to give them a more defined look.

We didn't have much sun today but hopefully you can see some of that detail.

Have fun hopping & Thanks for stopping by ~

A Big Thank You

Good Morning.  I hope everyone had a great weekend.  The weather was beautiful here so we played outside but I did manage to squeeze in some crafting.  I played along with two challenges - CR84FN50 color challenge and Freshly Made #26 Sketch

I didn't get this posted in time to enter but c'est la vie!

This card is a Big Thank You to June (Stamper for Fun in the PTI Forum).  Papertrey sent a surprise thank you set out to some customers a while back.  I didn't order that month but June had an extra and graciously mailed it to me.  Wasn't that thoughtful!!

These colors were fun to work with.  I love the playful ribbon with the swiss dots.  I selectively inked the stamp image so I could incorporate the flower.  For the inside, I used the new Movers and Shakers pop up die.

Paper Stampin' Up

WMSC86

If you saw my last post, then you know I have been working on sympathy cards this week.  For this card I decided to play along with the Waltzingmouse Sketch Challenge 86.

I started by stamping the background and roughing up the edges.  I used the burlap with lace for some added texture. Next it was on to the doily.

The doily was too white so I smudged the whole thing with a Ranger tool and Sahara Sand ink then stamped it with Text It.  I like the soft look.  I think Text It is my favorite background stamp evah!  The Poppies added the punch of color it needed.

Sympathy Cards - Card Patterns 154, CR84FN49

This week I have been working on Sympathy cards.  I needed four. Yes, I did say 4!  I only had two in my stash so ... to the craft  room I went.  I decided to incorporate several challenge into my designs.

Can you tell I didn't clean my desk after my last card!  I just love this color scheme and couldn't resist those scraps.

I cut the dark gray scroll from a Cricut cartridge.  I think it compliments the sentiment well.  I tried the butterfly plain but it needed more so I stamped the smaller image and added a tiny brad.
