I decided to make a birthday card gift holder for a family friend who turned nine. He is a boy that has found his passion - fishing! He loves it. We took him "worm drowning" three years ago and I didn't think it would take but now he is fishing tournaments every chance he gets.
This card is a Triple Tier Slider Card that I saw on Splitcoaststampers. Heather Summers was the designer. I used the PTI medium scallop die to cut DCWV Blue Waves paper. The scallop strips were adhered to the card base in two separate sheets to create a pocket for the gift card. The pull tab bobber was created by using PTI vintage ornaments dies to cut red and white paper shapes that were cut down to achieve the effect.
For the middle tier I used a polka dot Stampin Up paper and then created the little goldfish free hand. I added the dots and sprayed him with Glimmer Mist. I couldn't get a good picture to show you the effect :(
I kept the final tier simple with the orange scallop sentiment strip. I thought it let the Happy Birthday stand out against the bobber.
This was a fun card to make. I have many ideas running through my head for different themes. Hope you give one a try.
Thanks for stopping by~

So worth the wait. This is such an innovative card. I don't think I have ever seen a card with a buoy on it before. Very cool! I think the young man will be thrilled with the thoughtful card and the kick butt gift card. Nice. What a goodie!
