CR84FN Color Challenge & Less is More

I've never used this combo before but I love these colors together!  This card ended up being made from all scrap which qualified it for the Less is More challenge.  (Gotta love that too!)

I think the yellow and plaid double ended banners are Martha Stewart scraps.  The polka dot is Papertrey Ink.  And the light gray strip and dark gray behind the label well...your guess is as good as mine!  The inks are random, unlabeled cubes I bought when I first started stamping.  I wish I knew the name of them because they are great inks.

Now for a little about the layout.  As I was hopping around blog land today, I saw this layout used somewhere.  Of course, I didn't bookmark it so I couldn't find it again - lol.  If anyone recognizes it, please, let me know where it came from.

Edit:  Thanks to Sanketi @ The Storyteller I can now share with you the where I cased this card!    Lime Doodle

Papertrey Ink Feb Blog Hop

Hi all!  Today is Papertrey Ink's Interactive card blog hop.   I made a boy birthday card using some of my goodies from PTI's Anniversary release this month.  This was a fun one!  I can't wait to keep playing with these new dies.

I typed the saying in Printshop and then cut it with the Ad Sense die.

And for the inside ....

I wanted the Happy Birthday to be the focal point so I Versamarked the stardust saying. As I look at the pictures, I should have stamped it in black.

One-Layer Wednesday

So, I saw a One-Layer Wednesday (OWL) circle challenge and thought I would give it a try.  I always admire clean and simple cards but never have an mojo when I try to make them.  It seems like it should be easy with only one layer but man is it hard!

After a few mishaps, this was the final product.  I'm so glad I stepped out of my comfort zone and played along.

PTI Anniversary Contest and MIM53

Papertrey Ink is having an Anniversary contest today.  Our challenge is to create a project with leaves and butterflies.  It is also Make it Monday so I decided to combine the two.

I must admit that I have had coasters sitting in a drawer since I purchased them.  I just never think to pull them out but I will be using them more now!  They cut easily and work well as a focal point.  I can't wait to get my hands on the new release butterfly dies.  Oh the possibilities are endless!

In the video,  Jenn used and brayer and reinkers with water to add color to her embossed coaster but I didn't have a either of those handy so I turned to a tool that I love.  It is called RolTap by Clearsnap.

To use it, you just tap the wheel in your desired color and roll it on!  By layering with different colors you can create unique effects.  I used SU Ruby Red, Pumpkin Pie, and So Saffron.

The leaves were stamped with PTI Turning a New Leaf in SU Mellow Moss.  I just stamped off to get the lighter shades.  On the inside, I stamped the largest leaf and a sentiment from PTI With Sympathy.
